The Dutch Heritage fabrics are a collection of beautiful Chintz reproduction prints from a private collection by Petra Prins and Nel Kooiman. During the 17th and 18th century the Dutch East India Company (Verenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie / VOC) sailed along the Cape to India en route they found beautiful hand painted and hand printed cotton fabric.
These fabrics were of a superior quality with colourful plants and flower patterns. They brought these beautiful fabrics called chintz home and it was not long before these chintz became very popular in Netherlands England and France. The timeless prints still appeal to our imagination today.
